01. ENTERPRISE MIDDLEWARE AND INTEGRATION SOLUTIONS
JUMPCO has been building integration solutions for customers since its inception. Replacing expensive point-to-point integrations with bus, publish-and-subscribe or other integration models often forms a part of the solution. Using precisely modelled definitions of data elements and building solutions on industry standards also go a long way to ensuring effective solutions are implemented.
02. BUSINESS PROCESS MODELING, DESIGN AND AUTOMATION
Process modelling, including related techniques and technologies are a key part in making SOA a reality for many organisations. One of the main reasons for this is the separation of the business process from the underlying implementation. Accurate modeling of business processes combined with the appropriate tools to automate these models can significantly enhance the design and implementation of a part of your business. JUMPCO has been using IBM’s BPM stack to accomplish this for our clients for several years now. We are also following open-source initiatives in this area.
03. SOFTWARE ORIENTED ARCHITECTURE (SOA)
The essence of SOA is increasing your ability to effect business change, in other words to make your business more agile. At the business end, this involves modeling processes. On the implementation side, the bottom line in SOA is being able to create, a set of loosely-coupled, reusable, business-oriented services which can be used to automate the processes. Loose-coupling helps agility and lowers cost by lowering that amount of change that has to occur in the IT layers when a change in business process occurs, and vice-versa.
04. PORTAL SOLUTIONS
The user experience is important! Portal solutions are one way of integrating at the glass. They offer personalisation (every role in or outside the organisation can be given a different view), granular access control to applications, and much more. Closely related to Portals, or tightly integrating with them, are content and document management and business intelligence dashboard capabilities, amongst others. JUMPCO has extensive experience with IBM’s Portal technology, but we are also following developments in the open-source portal world with interest.
